UET Construction has begun construction of a solar power plant in Angren.

UET Construction has officially launched construction of a new solar power plant in Angren, a project aimed at developing renewable energy and increasing the region's energy resilience. The project is part of a national program to expand the use of clean energy sources and modernize Uzbekistan's energy infrastructure. The solar power plant will be equipped with modern, high-efficiency panels and monitoring technologies, ensuring stable generation and high performance. UET Construction specialists are performing a comprehensive range of work on the project, including site preparation, civil engineering, installation of mechanical and electrical equipment, and commissioning. Company representatives note that the project is of strategic importance: it will increase the share of alternative energy, reduce the burden on existing generation sources, and contribute to a reduction in CO₂ emissions. Particular attention is being paid to compliance with international quality, safety, and environmental standards. According to the implementation plan, construction of the plant will be completed on schedule. Once commissioned, the power plant will provide the region with additional capacity and contribute to the sustainable development and energy independence of Angren and the surrounding areas.

A joint event between ACWA Power – Central Asia and Larsen & Toubro, held on November 10, 2025, celebrated the achievement of Best HSSE Development and one million safe work hours at the Samarkand 1 & 2 Solar PV + BESS project. The project achieved this significant milestone in safe work hours, a significant achievement in occupational health and safety in the renewable energy construction sector. The main objective of the event was to recognize and reward the project's Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) program and team for outstanding results and high levels of engagement. In recognition of this achievement and UET Construction's commitment to HSE principles, ACWA Power and Larsen & Toubro presented UET Construction with the Best Safety Development Award at the event.
